## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT DEPARTED 7D2 AND PROCEEDED SOUTH TOWARDS TOLEDO FOR UNKNOWN REASONS AND APPEARS TO HAVE ATTEMPTED A LANDING AT USE FOR A SICK REAR SEAT PASSENGER. PILOT MAY HAVE BEEN ENROUTE TO FCM. DURING THE APPROACH AND LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED 100 YARDS NORTH OF THE APPROACH END OF RUNWAY 27. AN INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE UPPER GREAT LAKES CAUSED A WIND ADVISORY TO BE ISSUED FOR OHIO WITH WIND GUSTS GREATER THAN 45 MPH. ENGINE AND AIRCRAFT EXAMINED NEAR ACCIDENT SCENE AND NOTED NO MECHANICAL ABNORMALS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB IAD03FA053](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/IAD03FA053), May 11, 2003: Beech 24R (N4347W), Wauseon, OH, substantial damage, 3 fatal. Probable cause: The pilots failure to maintain control during the approach-to-landing. Factors were the high wind gusts and turbulence, and the pilot's decision to fly in those conditions.
