## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PERSONAL FLIGHT HAD DEPARTED ADDISON AIRPORT AT 14:00 EN ROUTE TO DENVER, CO. TO PARTICIPATE IN AN AIRCRAFT EXHIBITION. DURING THE VFR THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE OIL COOLER DEVELOPED A LEAK. PROPELLER GOVERNOR CAVITATED AND ALLOWED PROP TO GO TO FLAT PITCH, OVERSPEEDING THE ENGINE (3600 RPM). OIL TEMPS AND PRESS. NORMAL PRIOR TO ACCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE AND THE PILOT, SOLE OCCUPANT WAS UNINJURED. THE PILOT HOLDS A COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
