## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT LOOKED THE LANDING AREA OVER THREE TIMES BEFORE DETERMINING THAT IT WAS SAFE TO LAND. HE STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN LANDING IN THAT AREA FOR ABOUT THE LAST EIGHT YEARS AND IT LOOKED GOOD BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LANDED THE MAIN GEAR SETTLED INTO THE WATER SATURATED SUB-SURFACE AND DECELERATED RAPIDLY ENOUGH TO GENTLY ROLL ONTO ITS BACK. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ROLLED UPRIGHT AND FERRIED TO ANCHORAGE. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
