## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS ON A FERRY FLIGHT FROM LAKEPORT CALIFORNIA TO DELAND FLORIDA TO DELIVER THE AIRCRAFT. APPLY VALLEY WAS A PLANNED STOP TO INSPECT THE AIRCRAFT AND TOP OFF THE FUEL TANKS. WHILE ON DOWNWIND LEG INTO THE APPLE VALLEY AIRPORT, THE AIRCRAFT HAD A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE RIGHT ENGINE LOST POWER AND FAILED. THE PILOT TRIED TO MANUALLY EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR AS OUTLINED IN THE APPROVED CHECK LIST, BUT COULD NOT GET THE GEAR TO FULLY EXTEND. HE ELECTED TO LAND GEAR UP AT THE APPLE VALLEY AIRPORT. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT THE AIRCRAFT HAD APPROXIMATELY 150 GALLONS OF FUEL REMAINING IN THE TANKS. HE INDICATED THAT HE SWITCHED FROM THE AUX TANKS TO THE MAIN TANKS ABOUT 50 MILES FROM APPLE VALLEY. THE PILOT HAD BEEN FLYING FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 1/2 HOURS AT THE TIME OF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND SUBSEQUENT ENGINE FAILURE. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIFTED OFF THE RUNWAY, IT TOOK ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO GET THE LANDING GEAR TO EXTEND MANUALLY. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AT THE APPLE VALLEY AIRPORT WILL TRY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE, LANDING GEAR MALFUNCTION AND POWER LOSS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
