## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 21, 2003 AT 0848 EST, N75940 A CESSNA 172N WAS LANDING AT RALEIGH-DURHAM AIRPORT AND WAS OPERATING AS A TITLE 14 CFR 91 FLIGHT. UPON LANDING THE AIRCRAFTS PROPELLER CONTACTED THE GROUND, CAUSING MODERATE DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER. THE PILOT AND SOLE OCCUPANT SUSTAINED NO INJURIES. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATED BY A PRIVATE RATED PILOT, WHO STATED THAT ON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A CROSS WIND CONDITION. THE PILOT STATED THAT WHILE TRYING TO COMPENSATE FOR THE CROSS WIND LANDING, SHE FAILED TO MAINTAIN PROPER ATTITUDE AND CAUSED THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GROUND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
