## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING A TAIL WHEEL CHECK OUT THE INSTRUCTOR, MR. STEVEN HARRIS, MISHANDLED A RECOVERY FROM A BAD LANDING AND CAUSED THE AIRPLANE TO BECOME AIRBORNE 45 DEGREES TO THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE. THE AIRPLANE THEN SETTLED BACK TO THE RUNWAY AND SCRAPED THE RIGHT WING AND CAUSED THE PLANE TO TURN TO THE RIGHT. THIS CAUSED THE PLAN TO SKID SIDE WAYS ON THE LEFT MAIN GEAR CAUSING THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL TO FOLD UNDER AND BRAKE OFF FROM THE GEAR. THE AIRPLANE STRUCK THE LEFT WING BENDING THE SPAR OUT SIDE OF THE STRUT ATTACH POINTS. THE PROP ALSO SUSTAINED DAMAGE DURING THIS EVENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
