## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE A/C DEPARTED SANTA ANA, CA (SNA) 10AM, ENROUTE TO MONTEREY, CA (MRY) ON 06/04/03. ABOUT 20 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, CRUISING AT 8500 FT, THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A VIBRATION WITH LOSS OF POWER, AND WITHIN 3 MINUTES, TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. ATC GAVE VECTORS TO SANTA MONICA AIRPORT (SMO) WHERE THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT SAFELY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
