## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. SPECHT WAS DOING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AT ERIE AIRPARK ON JUNE 6, 2003, WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. ON THE THIRD LANDING AND SUBSEQUENT ROLL-OUT, HE FELT THE LEFT GEAR BEGIN TO GO OUTWARD. THEN HIS AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. AN INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE WELD HAD GIVEN WAY ON THE LEFT GEAR STRUT. THE DAMAGE TO HIS AIRCRAFT WAS MINOR AND TOTAL COST FOR REPAIR IS $360.00.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
