## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) INTERVIEW OF 2 EYEWITNESSES TO THE ACCIDENT INDICATED THAT THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN 1,000 TO 1,250 FEET BEYOND THE LANDING THRESHOLD OF A 2,000 FOOT RUNWAY, BOUNCED TWICE AND ATTEMPTED A GO AROUND. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY 1,000 FEET PAST THE END OF THE RUNWAY IN A NEAR VERTICAL ATTITUDE. INVESTIGATION OF AIRCRAFT WRECKAGE REVEALED THAT FLAPS WERE IN THE RETRACTED POSITION WITH THE FLAP HANDLE IN THE RETRACTED POSITION. PILOT EXPIRED SHORTLY AFTER THE ACCIDENT AT LOCAL HOSPITAL. NO FURTHER ACTION PLANNED. INVESTIGATION ALSO REVEALED THAT THE PILOT IN COMMAND DID NOT HAVE A VALID MEDICAL CERTIFICATE. THIS MATTER IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.
