## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT UPON LANDING IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE WAS ON THE BRAKES, EITHER HIMSELF OR THE PASSENGER WHO IS A STUDENT PILOT. THE PILOT MADE A POINT THAT THIS WAS NOT A TRAINING FLIGHT EVEN THOUGH THE STUDENT PILOT WAS ON BOARD. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED A COUPLE OF TIMES AND STARTED SLIDING SIDEWAYS AND WAS NEAR THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY WHEN THE GEAR COLLAPSED. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE WELDS ON THIS EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT'S LANDING GEAR WERE POOR, CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACCIDENT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
