## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING THE FLIGHT, 3 TOUCH AND GO'S WERE PERFORMED WITHOUT INCIDENT, ALL WITH A SLIGHT LEFT QUARTERING CROSSWIND. ON THE FOURTH LANDING, THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE LEFT MAIN GEAR FOLLOWED BY THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR ON CENTERLINE, A NORMAL UNEVENTFUL TOUCHDOWN. HE RAISED THE FLAPS, AND WAS ABOUT TO APPLY POWER FOR THE TAKEOFF WHEN SUDDENLY A WIND BURST LIFTED HIS LEFT WING. THE PILOT TRIED TO COUNTERACT THIS LIFTING WITH LEFT AILERON, RIGHT RUDDER AND RIGHT BRAKES. THESE CONTROL INPUTS HOWEVER, WERE NOT EFFECTIVE AND COULD NOT PREVENT HIS AIRCRAFT FROM DRIFTING OFF THE PAVEMENT. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF OF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO A DITCH. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE RESULTED. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.
