## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES OF FLYING, THE LEFT ENGINE BEGAN TO STREAK OIL FROM THE TOP COWL. THE LEFT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE STARTED TO DROP AND THE PILOT DECIDED TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE BEFORE ANY INTERNAL DAMAGE WOULD OCCUR. AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE AT SOLBERG AIRPORT (N51). THE LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL, BUT AFTER A SHORT ROLLING DISTANCE THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS SLIDING ON THE NOSE AND CLOSE TO STOPPING, THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. THE PILOT FURTHER STATED THAT HE INADVERTENTLY MOVED THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE TO THE UP POSITION RIGHT AFTER THE LANDING AND QUICKLY RETURNED THE HANDLE TO THE DOWN POSITION. AT THAT TIME THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND, SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE RIGHT MAIN COLLAPSED.

The pilot did not perform a good preflight and the aircraft was flown with the electric tow bar attached to the nose wheel, resulting in an off airport landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
