## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) LANDING IN IFR CONDITIONS, PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS BLOWN OFF COURSE BY A 30KT CROSSWIND, CAUSING IT TO IMPACT THE RUNWAY LAND AND HOLD SHORT SIGN (RWY 26 - 3000FT). THE ONDUTY CONTROLLER STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS NORTH OF THE RUNWAY OVER THE GRASS AREA WHEN HE BROKE OUT OF THE CLOUDS. WINDS WERE FROM THE SOUTHEAST AND HE LANDED ON RWY 8. COPILOT STATED THAT AT ABOUT DH EVERYTHING CHANGED VERY FAST AND VERY QUICKLY WITH A SOLID CURTAIN OF RAIN AND WIND AS THEY WERE ON SHORT FINAL. AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS CONFINED TO TWO BLADES ON THE RIGHT PROPELLER, THE ENGINE AND LANDING GEAR POD BOTH FROM PIECES OF THE PROPELLER AND THE RUNWAY SIGN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
