## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N9870U, WITH MR. CHARLES DANIEL AS PIC, DEPARTED WESLACO AIRPORT (T65) AT APPROXIMATELY 3:30 PM CENTRAL TIME, ENROUTE TO GIDDINGS-LEE COUNTY (62H). THE PIC CALLED 62H FOR ADVISORY. HE STARTED HIS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 17, HIS SPEED WAS 85 KTS WITH FULL FLAPS. TOUCH DOWN WAS APPROXIMATELY 1000 FT. BEYOND THE APPROACH END OF RUNWAY 17, HE LOWERED THE NOSE AND BEGAN TO APPLY BRAKES WHEN THE AIRPLANE WENT AIRBORN AGAIN. HE STATES THAT HE MADE ONE MORE WHEEL CONTACT BEFORE HE PASSED THE EXIT TO THE PARKING RAMP. HE CONTINUED TO SLOW THE PLANE WITH BRAKES, THE ENGINE WAS AT IDLE. HE STATED THAT NOTHING WORKED VERY WELL AS HE CONTINUED TO SPEED TOWARDS THE END OF THE RUNWAY. HE ALSO STATED THAT AS HE SKIDDED OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY, HE APPLIED BRAKES ON WET GRASS WITH VERY LITTLE RESULTS. AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY HE WENT DOWN A 8 TO 10 FT. SLOPE AND WENT AIRBORNE AGAIN ONLY TO COME DOWN HARD AND BOUNCE IN THE AIR AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME GOING SIDEWAYS TO THE RIGHT. LOTS OF LEFT RUDDER KEPT THE PLANE HEADING TOWARDS A WALL OF TREES. USING RUDDER AND BRAKES, HE WAS ABLE TO HEAD THE NOSE BETWEEN TWO TREES. THE WINGS IMPACT WITH THE TREES FINALLY STOPPED THE AIRPLANE.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
