## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 17, 2003, AT APPROXIMATELY 09:30 LCL MDT, A CESSNA 206 SINGLE-ENGINE AIRPLANE, N7372Q, SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LOWER FORWARD FUSELAGE STRUCTURE AFTER THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED DURING LANDING ROLL AT THE SOLDIER BAR USFS AIRSTRIP, LOCATED 45 NAUTICAL MILES WEST OF SALMON IDAHO. THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. THERE WAS NO POST-CRASH FIRE AND BOTH PILOTS EGRESSED THE AIRPLANE WITHOUT INJURY. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE BOLT THAT ATTACHES THE AFT END OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR DRAG LINK TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE FAILED ALLOWING THE GEAR TO FOLD BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA03LA113](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA03LA113), Jun 17, 2003: Cessna 206 (N7372Q), Soldier Bar, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The overload failure of the nose landing gear assembly during the landing roll, due to an improper maintenance installation. A factor was the rough/uneven terrain condition.

## Other reports on N7372Q (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19940224013679I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19940224013679I), Feb 24, 1994: Cessna TU206F (N7372Q), Bremerton, WA. Fuel exhustion descent. Emergency landing on golf course.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
