## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING A COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATION PRACTICAL TEST THE PILOT, MR. LUND, FAILED TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR BEFORE LANDING. THE PILOT AND THE EXAMINER STATE THAT THE PRESENCE OF ANOTHER AIRCRAFT IN THE PATTERN, THAT THEY HAD BEEN CLEARED TO LAND BEHIND, WAS A DISTRACTION. THEY STATE THAT THEY HAD TO EXTEND THE DOWN WIND TO ACCOMODATE THE OTHER AIRCRAFT AND THAT THE FINAL DECISION TO LAND CAME VERY CLOSE TO THE TOUCH DOWN DUE TO CONCERN AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THE AIRCRAFT IN FRONT OF THEM WAS GOING TO BE CLEAR OF THE RUNWAY. MR. LUND DETERMINED THAT THE AIRCRAFT IN FRONT OF THEM HAD CLEARED THE RUNWAY AND PROCEEDED TO LAND. BOTH THE PILOT AND THE EXAMINER STATE THAT THE GEAR HORN FAILED TO SOUND. MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS THE RESULT OF THE GEAR UP LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
