## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 19, 2003 WHILE ON A REVENUE FLIGHT FROM ST. LOUIS, MO TO MADISON, WI, AT ABOUT 9500 MSL AND 25 NM NORTH OF THE SPI AIRPORT THE FLIGHT CREW GOT A OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE #1 ENGINE. THE APPROPRIATELY RATED AND QUALIFIED PIC WENT THROUGH THE CHECK LIST TO VERIFY LOW OIL PRESSURE AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND VERIFIED THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING WAS REAL AND NOT AN INDICATION. THE EMERGENCY CHECK LIST WAS COMPLETED THEN THE PIC DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH SPI APPROACH CONTROL AND ELECTED TO TURN BACK TO THE SPI AIRPORT. THE FLIGHT MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING, TAXIED TO THE TERMINAL AND DEPLANED ALL PASSENGERS AND CREW.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
