## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS TRANSPORTING AN AERIAL BANNER ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT. DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, THE BANNER CAME UNTIED AND FILLED WITH AIR AND WRAPPED AROUND THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT COULD NOT MAINTAIN ALTITUDE AND CRASH LANDED IN A MARSH ONE (1) MILE NORTH OF THE AIRPORT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB IAD03CA060](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/IAD03CA060), Jun 28, 2003: Bellanca 7GCBC (N4133Y), Atlantic City, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to properly secure an aerial advertising banner to the outside of the airplane.

## Other reports on N4133Y (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19810108001749A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19810108001749A), Jan 8, 1981: Bbavia 7GCBC (N4133Y), Hailey, ID, Substantial damage. Lost directional control on landing. Ground-looped.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
