## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING THE INVESTIGATION AT THE SCENE, THE PILOT RETURNED FROM THE HOSPITAL TO RETRIEVE SOME PERSONAL ITEMS. HE STATED THAT A LOSS OF POWER AND A LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE WERE OBSERVED. HE SELECTED A GRASSY FIELD AS OPPOSED TO A HIGH TRAFFIC ROAD FOR EMERGENCY LANDING. HE APPLIED FLAPS TO SLOW HIS APPROACH. AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND ABOUT A 100' ROLL, THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED ON ITS BACK, (NOSED OVER) DUE TO PLOWED FURROWS IN THE GROUND OBSCURED BY TALL GRASS. WEATHER WAS NO FACTOR. AIRCRAFT WAS ENROUTE TO GALLATIN, TN (M33) FROM CONWAY, AR (M03), 2 HOURS AND 45 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL03LA117](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL03LA117), Jul 3, 2003: Stinson 108-3 (N6088M), Hendersonville, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The total loss of engine power due to loss of oil pressure for undetermined reasons, resulting in a forced landing and nose over on none suitable terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
