## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT SEAN O'ROURKE WAS ACTING AS A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TEACHING POWER OFF STALLS TO A STUDENT IN N644DC, DURING THE RECOVERY THEN ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. MR. O'ROURKE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FIELD. THEN ABOUT ONE HOUR LATER MR. O'ROURKE SUCCESSFULLY RESTARTED THE ENGINE. HE THEN FLEW N644DC TO CPK (CHESAPEAKE AIRPORT). MR. O'ROURKE DID NOT HAVE A AIRCRAFT MECHANIC CHECK THE AIRCRAFT AFTER HIS EMERGENCY LANDING TO DETERMINE IF THE AIRCRAFT WAS SAFE FOR RETURN TO FLIGHT. MR. COPELAND THE STUDENT PILOT WAS ON HIS SECOND FLIGHT AND HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED A STUDENT PILOT/MEDICAL CERTIFICATE AT THIS TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
