## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 5 JULY 2003 THE PILOT OF A PA-28-151, REGISTERED AS N32440 RAN OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AFTER ABORTING TAKEOFF AT THE BELLEVILLE, TX (06R) AIRPORT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE DECIDED TO MAKE A TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 33 WITH A TAIL WIND DUE TO THE TREES AT THE DEPARTED END OF 15. THE WINDS WERE REPORTED BY THE PILOT AS LIGHT OTHER WITNESSES REPORTED THE WINDS AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND FSS NOTED THE WINDS AT 130@4KT AT THE NEAREST REPORTING POINT IN THAT AREA. THE AIRPORT DATA SHOWS THAT HE ALSO MADE AN UPHILL TAKEOFF AS "RUNWAY 15-33, SOUTH END 45' LOWER THAN NORTH END". THE PILOT ALSO STATED THAT HE WAS USING A SHORT FIELD TAKEOFF TECHNIQUE DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE AIRPORT. DURING THE TAKEOFF THE PILOT STATED "I NOTICED WE WEREN'T GAINING/LOSING ALTITUDE" AT THAT TIME HE DECIDED TO LAND AND TRIED TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY IN THE AIRPORT FENCE. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND BOTH WING LEADING EDGES. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES AND WITNESS STATEMENTS ARE ALL CONSISTENT. THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE WAS RUN AND CHECKED AFTER THE INCIDENT WITH THIS INSPECTOR AND THE MAGNETOS CHECK, POWER CHECK AND ENGINE PARAMETER'S WERE ALL NORMAL.^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
