## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER COMPLETING 6 FULL STOP LANDINGS DURING A DUAL INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ELECTED TO AUTHORIZE THE STUDENT FOR HIS FIRST SOLO. ON THE STUDENT'S FIRST ATTEMPTED LANDING THE AIRCRAFT BALLOONED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER ROUND OUT. WHILE BALLOONING, THE STUDENT ADDED POWER IN AN ATTEMPT TO RECOVER. HOWEVER, THE AIRCRAFT STALLED AND DROPPED NOSE FIRST TO THE RUNWAY. AFTER 5 TO 6 BOUNCES THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AND STRUCK A RUNWAY SIGN, SHEARING OFF THE NOSE WHEEL, BENDING THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR, AND BENDING THE LEFT WING.
