## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE STUDENT PILOT WAS CONDUCTING HIS 3RD TOUCH AND GO LANDING APPROACH TO THIS RUNWAY. THE TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL, AND THE STUDENT ADVANCED THE THROTTLE FOR TAKEOFF. AS THE AIRCRAFT NEARED 50MPH, IT STARTED TO DRIFT LEFT. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT, BUT THE DRIFT CONTINUED. THE PILOT ELECTED TO CLOSE THE THROTTLE INSTEAD OF CONTINUING WITH THE TAKEOFF. THE AIRCRAFT PULLED EVEN HARDER TO THE LEFT AFTER THROTTLE REDUCTION. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY, STRIKING A RUNWAY LIGHT. THE PILOT GOT THE AIRCRAFT BACK UNDER CONTROL AND TAXIED TO PARKING. THE PROP AND THE NOSE WHEEL COWLING WERE DAMAGED, BUT THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
