## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WINDS WERE REPORTED TO BE FROM 230 DEGREES AT 7 KNOTS. THE TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL ON RUNWAY 25. THE PILOT SAYS THAT THE WINDS SHIFTED AND THE LEFT WING STARTED TO RISE THEN FALL. THE PILOT TRIED TO CORRECT WITH RUDDER INPUT AS THE AIRCRAFT TURNED RIGHT BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP THE TURN. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO TURN AND THE RIGHT WING CONTACTED THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIED TO THE HANGAR UNDER ITS OWN POWER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX03CA246](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX03CA246), Jul 13, 2003: Maysmike Pitts S1S (N25SF), Livermore, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for crosswind conditions, which resulted in a loss of directional control and a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
