## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT (ALONE) EXPERIENCED A FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE AND LOST POWER WHILE FLYING IN THE PAULDEN, AZ AREA. HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING @ AZ57. HE COULD GET THE ENGINE TO RUN ON THE "PRIMER" WHICH IS HAND OPERATED BUT ONCE HE STOPPED OPERATING THE PRIMER, THE ENGINE WOULD AGAIN QUIT. AS HE APPROACHED THE LANDING SITE, THE A/C APPEARS TO HAVE STALLED-FLAT ATTITUDE-AND IMPACTED THE GROUND IN A FLAT ATTITUDE CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT RECEIVED A BROKEN BACK. THERE WAS NO POST-CRASH FIRE. PAULDEN, AZ IS LOCATED APPROX. 10 MILES NORTH OF CHINO VALLEY, AZ ON HYWY #89.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
