## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 21, 2003 AT ABOUT 2100 CDT WHILE ON A REVENUE FLIGHT FROM SAGINAW MI TO KANSAS CITY MO THE APPROPRIATELY RATED PILOT IN COMMAND STARTED A DESCENT FROM 14,000 FT MSL TO 10,000 FT MSL. THE PIC PULLED THE POWER BACK SLIGHTLY AT THE START OF THE DESCENT, AND A SHORT TIME LATER THE AIRCRAFT YAWED AND THE RIGHT ENGINE FAILED. THE PIC NOTED THE TORQUE AND THE OIL PRESSURE WAS ZERO. THE RIGHT ENGINE WAS FEATHERED, SHUT DOWN AND ATC WAS NOTIFIED. THE PIC REQUESTED LOWER AND DECLARED AND EMERGENCY AND WAS GIVEN VECTORS TO PIA AIRPORT, WHERE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS MADE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIED TO THE GENERAL AVIATION RAMP AND BOTH PILOTS DEPLANED WITHOUT INJURY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
