## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT (ALONE) TOOK-OFF FROM HIS PROPERTY (1000' DIRT STRIP) IN A DOWNWIND ATTITUDE, AT AN ELEVATION OF 2580' (MSL), AND AN OAT OF APPROX. 100 DEGREE F. THE A/C REMAINED IN GROUND EFFECT UNTIL THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO PULL BACK ON THE YOKE AND FLAT-STALLED IT. THE A/C IMPACTED THE GROUND IN A FLAT ATTITUDE CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. THERE WAS NO POST-CRASH FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX03LA240](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX03LA240), Jul 23, 2003: Cessna 180C (N767RK), Punkin Center, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate preflight planning and failure to attain adequate climb rate to ensure clearance from obstacles. The tailwind and high density altitude were factors.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
