## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING TOUCH AND GOES ON RUNWAY 22 AT BLACKHAWK AIRFIELD (87Y), THE STUDENT PILOT RETARDED THE THROTTLE AFTER LANDING AND THEN APPLIED POWER FOR TAKE OFF. THE INSTRUCTOR STATED HE WAS SLOW REAPPLYING POWER AND THEN THE STUDENT AGAIN RETARDED THE THROTTLE AT WHICH POINT THE INSTRUCTOR TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE AND REAPPLIED POWER. REALIZING HE DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH DISTANCE FOR TAKE OFF HE RETARDED THE THROTTLE, APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE AIRCRAFT RAN OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND NOSED OVER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES BUT THE AIRCRAFT SUFFERED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI03LA225](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI03LA225), Jul 25, 2003: Beech C23 (N9361S), Madison, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The dual student's delay in executing the aborted takeoff. Also causal was the pilot-in-command's delayed remedial action.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
