## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS OPERATING IN THE WASHINGTON DC ADIZ WITH THE REQUIRED ADIZ CLEARANCE WHICH WAS OBTAINED FROM POTOMAC CLEARANCE DELIVERY, THE ADIZ FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED WITH THE LEESBURG FSS. THE PILOT WAS INSTRUCTED BY ATC TO MAINTAIN A HEADING OF 350; AFTER APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES THE PILOT TRIED TO CALL ATC SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE PILOT THEN TURNED TO A 095 HEADING FOR A DIRECT FLIGHT TO ATLANTIC CITY. AS SOON AS PILOT CHANGED HEADING ATC REPRIMANDED THE PILOT AND GAVE THE PILOT A HANDOFF TO ANOTHER CONTROLLER. AFTER APPROXIMATELY FORTY MINUTES AND PRIOR TO THE HANDOFF TO ACY APPROACH CONTROL THE CONTROLLER INSTRUCTED THE PILOT TO CALL THE TELEPHONE NUMBER WHICH HE HAD JUST GIVEN TO THE PILOT WHEN HE LANDS AT HIS DESTINATION. INCIDENT CLOSED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
