## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATES: HE APPROACHED THE AIRPORT TOO CLOSE ON THE DOWNWIND FOR LANDING AND FROM A HIGHER THAN NORMAL ALTITUDE AND AIRSPEED. THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE RUNWAY AND BOUNCED AN ESTIMATED 8' OR 9'. ON THE SECOND TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRCRAFT'S NOSE WHEEL HIT THE RUNWAY COLLAPSING THE NOSE GEAR. AN ENGINE FUEL LINE WAS THEN RUPTURED AND A FIRE STARTED, BURNING THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE DID NOT PROPERLY PLAN FOR THE EFFECT THAT THE DENSITY ALTITUDE WOULD HAVE ON THE LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
