## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DEPARTURE CREW REPORTED A LOUD BOOM, POSSIBLY A COMPRESSOR STALL OR BLOWN TIRE. EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND TAXIED TO THE GATE. MAINTENANCE FOUND EVIDENCE OF BIRD STRIKE ON THE RIGHT HAND ENGINE. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED WORK CARDS 72-96-12, 72-96-14, 72-96-11, 71-91-16, 72-91-15, AND 72-93-11. MAINTENANCE ALSO BLENDED COMPRESSOR BLADES ON THE RIGHT HAND ENGINE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MD-80 MAINTENANCE MANUAL 72-33-21 AND 72-00-00.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
