## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 29, 2003 AT 0541Z N1212Q, AN AMPHIBIOUS EQUIPPED CE-185, WAS ON A 14 CFR PART 91 FLIGHT FROM JUNEAU, ALASKA TO CORDOVA, ALASKA. DURING THE APPROACH THE PILOT DISCOVERED THAT THE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT CYCLE DOWN. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE PILOT REALIZED THAT THE GEAR ON THE RIGHT SIDE PONTOON HAD PARTIALLY EXTENDED BUT THE LEFT SIDE REMAINED UP. THIS ELIMINATED THE POSSIBILITY FOR A WATER LANDING. THE PILOT ELECTED TO LAND ON THE RUNWAY AT CORDOVA. HE HAD THE RESCUE VEHICLES STANDING BY AND PERFORMED THE LANDING WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THE PILOT AND THREE PASSENGERS RECEIVED NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RECOVERED FROM THE RUNWAY WITH A CHERRY PICKER AND TAXIED ONTO THE RAMP. A LOCAL MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT A PIECE OF ALUMINUM HYDRAULIC LINE HAD SEVERAL PIN SIZE HOLES FROM CORROSION THAT ALLOWED THE HYDRAULIC FLUID TO LEAK AND CAUSE THE GEAR TO MALFUNCTION. THE LINE WAS REPLACED AND LEAK CHECKED AND N1212Q WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
