## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PILOT AND OWNER RONALD RICHARDSON STATED HE TOUCHED DOWN AT 47 KNOTS, APPLIED TOO MUCH RUDDER AND/OR BRAKES THEN GROUND LOOPED. THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. MR. RICHARDSON WAS NOT INJURED AND STATED HE HAD NO EXCUSES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN03LA141](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN03LA141), Aug 7, 2003: Richardson RV-6 (N846E), Provo, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain aircraft control. Contributing factors were the resulting ground loop and the collapsed right main landing gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
