## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED. ON FINAL HE NOTICED A DUST DEVIL 1/2 TO 3/4 OF THE WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY. AFTER LANDING, ON ROLL OUT, AT APPROXIMATELY 20 KNOTS, THE AIRCRAFT CAUGHT THE DUST DEVIL AT THE FAR END OF THE RUNWAY. THIS CAUSED THE LEFT WING AND TAIL TO COME UP SO THE PILOT TOUCHED THE RIGHT BREAK FOR CONTROL. THE PROP STRUCK THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT THEN NOSED OVER ON ITS BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA03LA167](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA03LA167), Aug 11, 2003: Aviat A-1B (N233HY), Driggs, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain control of the aircraft during the landing roll. A contributing factor was the dust devil.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
