## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT, KEN BURROWS, WAS RECEIVING FLIGHT INSTRUCTION FROM C. DWIGHT VANCE. THEY HAD BEEN PRACTICING INSTRUMENT APPROACHES AND HAD MADE NINE (9) LANDINGS PRIOR TO THE GEAR UP INCIDENT. THE LAST APPROACH WAS A SHORT FIELD APPROACH USING A GREAT AMOUNT OF POWER. NEITHER PILOT HAD NOTICED THE GEAR NOT BEING DOWN. THEY REDUCED POWER AT TIME OF TOUCH DOWN WHEN THE GEAR WARNING HORN SOUNDED. THEY WERE TOO CLOSE TO THE GROUND TO RECOVER, DUE TO THE PROPELLER STRIKING THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
