## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 22, 2003, AT APPROXIMATELY 1715 MDT, N775RC, A CESSNA CE-402-C, ENROUTE FROM ALBUQUERQUE, NM TO LAS CRUCES, NM. APPROXIMATELY 30 NW OF LAS CRUCES, NM IN CRUISE FLIGHT ENCOUNTERED LIGHT CHOP, HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THEN LOST LEFT RUDDER EFFECTIVENESS. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND ELECTED TO CONTINUE TO EL PASO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN THE EVENT THAT EMERGENCY SERVICES MIGHT BE NECESSARY. PILOT LANDED AT KELP WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
