## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT IN COMMAND (W. THOMPSON) WAS ON A FLIGHT FROM CHO TO RZZ (IFR FLIGHT PLAN). HE SET UP THE AIRCRAFT FOR A LANDING ON RUNWAY 5. MR. THOMPSON SELECTED GEAR DOWN ON THE DOWNWIND LEG AND HE HEARD A DIFFERENT NOISE THAN HE IS USED TO. THE TWO MAIN GEAR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED BUT THE NOSE LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. THE LANDING GEAR WAS RECYCLED WITH THE SAME RESULTS. A FLY-BY OF THE AIRPORT WAS COMPLETED AND PERSONNEL ON THE GROUND CONFIRMED THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS NOT FULLY EXTENDED. A LANDING FOR RUNWAY 34 WAS THEN SET UP. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED. THE MAIN LANDING GEAR STAYED EXTENDED AND THE NOSE FELL AS WEIGHT WAS APPLIED. THE AIRCRAFT SLID A SHORT DISTANCE TO A STOP. THE PILOT SAFELY EGRESSED THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT NOR ANYONE ON THE GROUND SUFFERED ANY INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
