## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON THIRD APPROACH, PILOT HAD CLEAR LAKE FOR LANDING. AT APPROXIMATELY 100 FT ABOVE LAKE, BOAT PULLING TUBERS TURNED IN FRONT OF AIRCRAFT. PILOT CONSIDERED DIVERTING TO ONZ, BUT BOAT SAW HIM AND TURNED OUT OF THE WAY. HE DECIDED TO LAND, AND WHEN HE LOWERED THE AIRCRAFT NOSE, AIRSPEED INCREASED TO APPROXIMATELY 80-85 KTS. HE FELT HE COULD SLOW THE AIRCRAFT DOWN, BUT TOUCHED DOWN AT 80 KTS. HE REALIZED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO STOP, AND APPLIED FULL RIGHT RUDDER, HOPING TO TURN BACK ALONG LAKE EDGE AND TOWARDS CENTER OF LAKE. HE WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE TURN, AND STRUCK A DOCK, BOAT HOIST, AND BOAT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, THE LEFT FORWARD FLOAT MOUNT STRUT SHEARED OFF AT THE AIRFRAME ATTACH POINT, THERE WAS A LARGE GOUGE IN ONE PROPELLER BLADE, AND BOTH FLOAT TIPS WERE DAMAGED BACK TO APPROXIMATELY THE THIRD RIB.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
