## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING HIS FIRST SERIES OF SOLO FLIGHTS. THE PILOT HAD ALREADY PERFORMED TWO SUCCESSFUL TAKE-OFF AND LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 16R. THE PILOT HAD COMPLETED HIS THIRD TAKE-OFF FROM RUNWAY 16, AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 16L, WHEN HE FLARED THE AIRCRAFT SLIGHTLY HIGH, WHICH RESULTED IN BOUNCING THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT THEN DECIDED TO INITIATE A GO-AROUND PROCEDURE, DURING WHICH HE STARTED TO LOSE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL, AND THE AIRPLANE WAS VEERING OFF TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN ON THE GROUND, WENT THROUGH SOME GRASS, AND ACROSS THE TAXIWAY. THE AIRPLANE BECAME AIRBORNE, CAME BACK DOWN ON THE GROUND, AND STARTED TO VEER TOWARDS THE RIGHT SLIGHTLY. THE AIRPLANE STRUCK THE WEST FACING SIDE OF AN INDUSTRIAL BUILDING THAT IS LOCATED ON THE AIRPORT. THE LEFT HAND WING TIP HIT THE BUILDING FIRST, THEN ABOUT TWENTY FEET FARTHER DOWN, THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE ENGINE COWLING HIT THE BUILDING, AND THE AIRPLANE CAME TO REST ABOUT 20 FEET FARTHER DOWN FROM WHERE THE ENGINE COWLING HIT THE BUILDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
