## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) 08/31/2003 LANDING ON RUNWAY 21 AT MARBLE CANYON, AZ, THE PILOT ENTERED A STANDARD PATTERN FROM 45 DEGREES DOWNWIND AT 4600 FEET. WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH, WITH APPROACH FEELING STABLE, THE PILOT APPLIED FULL FLAPS AND NOSE-UP TRIM. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED ON LANDING AND THE PILOT DECIDED TO GO-AROUND. HE APPLIED FULL POWER, STALLED LEFT WING AND FLIPPED AIRCRAFT UPSIDE DOWN. PILOT DID NOT COMPENSATE FOR FULL NOSE-UP TRIM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX03CA272](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX03CA272), Aug 31, 2003: Cessna 182J (N2898F), Marble Canyon, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: the failure of the pilot to retract the flaps and attain a sufficient airspeed during the attempted go-around, which resulted in a stall. The full nose-up trim was a contributing factor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
