## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE PERFORMING AERIAL APPLICATION, THE PILOT FLEW THE HELICOPTER THROUGH A SINGLE WIRE DURING DESCENT INTO THE FIELD. THE WIRE WRAPPED THE MAIN ROTOR MAST RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE ROTORCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX03CA285](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX03CA285), Sep 13, 2003: Bell 47G-5 (N7060J), Greenfield, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain clearance with the wires due to an inadequate visual lookout.

## Other reports on N7060J (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19730207005789A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19730207005789A), Feb 7, 1973: Bell 47G5 (N7060J), Koloa, HI, Substantial damage. The herbicide loader forgot to disconnect the herbicide hose.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
