## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2003, AT 19:30 LOCAL TIME, A MOONEY-20-R, N288MA, REGISTERED TO FIVE STAR AVIATION, INC., EXPERIENCED A GEAR FAILURE DURING LANDING WHILE ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT AT TALLAHASSEE REGIONAL AIRPORT (TLH). VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED AND THE PILOT AND PASSENGER HAD NO INJURIES. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED OUT OF TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA (TLH). M&D WILL BE SUBMITTED BY MECHANIC WHEN HE DETERMINES THE CAUSE OF THE GEAR FAILURE. NTSB CALLED ON SEPT 18 AND RESCINDED THE ACCIDENT NUMBER, THEREBY REQUIRING ADDITIONAL RESOURCES TO RETURN AND UPDATE ALL OF THE INFORMATION PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED AN ACCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
