## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FAYETTE AIRPORT (I23), OHIO AT 12:45 PM AND WAS MAKING A FUEL STOP AT FINDLAY AIRPORT (FDY). THE PILOT WAS LANDING AT RUNWAY 36 WITH A CROSSWIND FROM 150 AT 12 KNOTS. THE PILOT INDICATED THAT HE LANDED WITH A GUSTY WIND FROM THE RIGHT. THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN RUNWAY 36. HOWEVER, THE CROSSWIND PUSHED THE AIRCRAFT OFF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT TRIED TO REGAIN CONTROL BY MOVING THE AILERON CONTROLS TO THE RIGHT AND BY APPLYING POWER. AT THIS TIME, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT, KNOCKING DOWN A RUNWAY SIGN. AS A RESULT, THE AIRCRAFT GOT INTO A GROUND LOOP TO THE LEFT. AFTERWARDS, THE PILOT MOVED THE AIRCRAFT SO HE WOULD NOT BLOCK THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE L/H & R/H WING (TORN FABRIC), AFT FUSELAGE (TORN FABRIC, BROKEN RIB, BENT TUBE), LANDING GEAR (BENT LANDING GEAR STRUCTURE), AND BROKEN R/H WHEEL TRIM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
