## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE TAXIING OVER SOME ROUGH SURFACE AREA AT AKRON-FULTON AIRPORT PILOT HEARD A CRACK IN THE NOSE SECTION, SAID IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE A PROBLEM. LIFTED OFF TO LORAIN COUNTY, LANDED NORMALLY, EXPEDITED TO END OF RUNWAY FOR INCOMING TRAFFIC, AIRCRAFT PRODUCED A SHIMMY, NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED, SLID OFF END OF RUNWAY, INSPECTION AFTERWARDS REVEALED THAT THE FIBERGLASS HOUSING FOR THE GEAR HAD BROKE AWAY JAMMING THE BRAKES TORQUE TUBES, DESTROYED ONE RUNWAY LIGHT. RT WING HAS SMALL DING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
