## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) 1. LANDING APPROACH WAS HIGH AND FAST AS PER THE PILOT STATEMENT. 2. TOUCHDOWN POINT WAS BEYOND THE CENTER POINT OF THE RUNWAY BASED UPON WITNESS STATEMENTS. 3. ADEQUATE BRAKING WAS NOT AVAILABLE SINCE THE FULL WEIGHT OF THE AIRPLANE WAS NOT ON THE WHEELS AS EVIDENCED BY THE TIRE MARKS ON THE RUNWAY. 4. DECISION TO EXECUTE GO-AROUND WAS EXCESSIVELY DELAYED WHILE TRYING TO APPLY MAXIMUM BRAKING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX03LA293](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX03LA293), Sep 20, 2003: Cessna 182A (N9921B), Georgetown, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's misjudged speed and distance, and his failure to perform a go-around which resulted in a runway overrun.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
