## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED THAT DURING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, THE ENGINE WAS NOT PRODUCING WHAT HE FELT WAS ENOUGH POWER. HE TRANSFERRED CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT TO THE INSTRUCTOR. THE INSTRUCTOR LANDED THE AIRCRAFT. WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR ATTEMPTED TO APPLY BRAKES, HE REALIZED THAT THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT HAVE BRAKES ON HIS SIDE. THE INSTRUCTOR THEN ASKED THE STUDENT TO APPLY BRAKES. THE AIRCRAFT WENT OFF THE RUNWAY AND GROUND LOOPED. THERE WAS NO NMAC, NO FIRE, AND NO DAMAGE TO PEOPLE OR PROPERTY ON THE GROUND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
