## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON CLIMB OUT FROM MEDFORD, OREGON (MFR) AT APPROXIMATELY 4000 AGL AND 6 MILES NW OF AIRPORT, AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A FLOCK OF LARGE BIRDS. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED IMPACT DAMAGE TO LEFT AND RIGHT WINGS AND CENTER POST ON WINDSHIELD. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO THE FIELD AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO BOTH WINGS AND CENTER POST. DAMAGED AREAS INSPECTED ON SITE AND CLASSIFIED AS MINOR. NO CORRECTIVE MEASURES INITIATED, ENCOUNTER WAS UNAVOIDABLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
