## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED THAT 20 KNOT WINDS AND LOW LEVEL TURBULENCE AT TREE-TOP LEVEL, LIGHT WINDS WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS AT THE SURFACE CAUSED THE LEFT WING TO RISE. THE PILOT ELECTED TO ABORT THE LANDING, APPLIED LEFT AILERON AND FULL POWER TO GO AROUND. UNABLE TO GAIN FULL CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE HE REDUCED POWER TO IDLE. THE AIRPLANE WENT OFF THE GRAVEL BAR INTO SHALLOW WATER, NOSED OVER AND SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING. PILOT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO PREACCIDENT MECHANICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRPLANE.
