## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE LANDING RUNWAY 14 AT NEW RICHMOND, WISCONSIN (KRNH) PILOT IN COMMAND OF N5237G EXPLAINED THAT HE HAD ENCOUNTERED A RIGHT CROSSWIND. THIS CROSSWIND LIFTED THE AIRCRAFT'S RIGHT WING FAR ENOUGH TO STRIKE THE LEFT WING TIP ON THE RUNWAY TARMAC. N5237C CONTINUED A LEFT ROTATION FORWARD ONTO AIRCRAFT'S NOSE AND THEN OVER ONTO BACK. WINDS AT THE TIME WERE RECORDED AS 220 @ 04 KNOTS. PILOT HAD JUST COMPLETED A BIENNUAL FLIGHT CHECK AND RECEIVED HIS CONVENTIONAL GEAR AUTHORIZATION. AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO LEFT WING AND SPAR, LEFT FUSELAGE, AND VERTICAL STABILIZER/RUDDER. PROPELLER WAS DAMAGED BY STRIKING RUNWAY AND BENT BACK TOWARD AIRCRAFT. THE WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED POSSIBLY BY TWISTING MOMENT AS AIRCRAFT ROLLED OVER OR BY INVERTED IMPACT WITH RUNWAY.
