## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATED BY GALVIN FLYING SERVICE AS A 14 CFR PART 91 INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT. STUDENT PILOT WAS ON A SUPERVISED SOLO FLIGHT, PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 13L. THE INSTRUCTOR STATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS HIGH ON FINAL APPROACH. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN, IT BOUNCED FIVE OR SIX TIMES BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THE INSTRUCTOR INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT BUT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DAMAGE. DURING SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION, SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL AND SUPPORTING STRUCTURE WAS NOTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA04LA002](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA04LA002), Oct 2, 2003: Cessna 172S (N350ME), Seattle, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: Improper flare during the landing. Excessive airspeed and improper remedial action were factors.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
